Review highlights
Based on 4,514 reviewsNa Burji Kozina is widely praised for its authentic and generously portioned dishes, capturing the essence of traditional Balkan and ex-Yugoslavian cuisine. The restaurant's open charcoal grill and homemade bread enhance the overall dining experience, contributing to consistently fresh and flavorful meals. Guests appreciate the friendly, welcoming atmosphere, often noting the accommodating service and the unique, nostalgic ambiance. The spacious portions cater well to both families and larger groups, making it a popular stop for travelers. While the food and environment receive high marks, some feedback suggests room for improvement in beverage offerings and accommodation options, though these points remain secondary to the overall positive impression.
Located just a few minutes from the highway, food is amazing, grilled on charcoal in an open kitchen. The portions are huge, we had 2 mix plates for 2 persons, we were 5 adults and we had left overs, 1 portion of fries equals 3 portions of fries. Home made bread is amazing. Burgers are huge as well the kids ate approx. half burger each. The only negative thing is that they don't have rooms to rent, I would make holidays there
We stopped here for lunch on our way to Ljubljana from Trieste for lunch. It was a great experience! The waiter was friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent! Truly recommend.
So fresh and delicious food, so friendly atmosphere, there was wonderful under the shade of the trees… I wish return again and again here
At such restauratns I would be very happy if Google would add sixth star on their rating metrics. One of the most authentic restaurant in seaside Slovenia with traditional not only local but ex-Yugoslavian cuisine with exaggerated portions and waitress with red star on their shirts makes you cry for our ex homeland. Perfect even for larger groups of hungry gourmets.
Here you can find a true XX century Balkan experience. The place is very well curated, from the atmosphere itself to the quality of the food. Only the beer of the house could be better.
Super friendly service, great grill plate for two, definitely recommend! The portion is at least enough for three people :)
Excellent wooden grill, great meat balkan dishes. And most important things in restaurant, always friendly, smiling waiter Luka, doesn’t mater which hour, week, month or day is it. He is the high light of restaurant.
